Assiniboia Downs (ASD) is operated by the Manitoba Jockey Club, ASD is home to the Manitoba Derby and offers live racing from May through September. The track is located on the western edge of Winnipeg, near the intersection of the Perimeter Highway and Portage Avenue.

Stadium light towers are often used to help with television broadcasts for sporting events. CTI has employed a four tower solution at Assiniboia Downs race track in Winnipeg for this reason. Due to the design of the permanent lighting in the track, a good part of the race has horses between the camera and the light sources. This creates a "dark" side of the horse and that side is the side the camera sees for part of the race. CTI's stadium lights are placed on the same side of the horse as the camera to light up this "dark" side and provide a much better television broadcast. The stadium towers also have the ability to aim our lights to fit the particular needs of each application, so all the lights on a stadium light tower contribute to improving the situation. This results in a significant visual improvement with a minimum amount of towers.
